Start the Season Strong: Central Indiana RV Checklist

After a long winter, the first camping trip of the year feels like a fresh start—until a tire looks low or your water system starts acting weird. At S&H Campground in Greenfield, we see the same “first-weekend surprises” every spring, so here’s a quick checklist to get you road-ready—and help you lock in your favorite weekends before the season fills up.

Book First, Then Prep

Spring and summer weekends book up fast, especially when there’s something fun on the schedule. With activities happening all season and themed weekends that campers love, campsites at S&H Campground can fill quickly—so choose your dates, reserve your site, and use the checklist below to get everything squared away.

The 20-Minute Walkaround

Tires and Hitch

  • Check tire pressure and scan for cracks, bulges, or flat spots. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) stresses that routine tire care improves safety and can even help fuel efficiency.

  • Confirm the coupler is locked, chains crossed, and the breakaway cable clipped.

    Roof and Seals

Scan the roof seams, corners, and around vents for gaps, lifted caulk, or soft spots—if anything feels “spongy” or you notice water stains inside cabinets, take care of it before you travel.

Water + Power: The Make-or-Break Check

    Water System

    • Peek under sinks for drips.

    • Run the pump. It should stop once pressure builds.

    • Turn on faucets/shower—sputtering that won’t clear can mean air leaks or a valve issue.

    Power and Refrigerator

Test your outlets and start the fridge early so it’s cold before you load your food—and if something pops up last minute, our team offers RV service to help you get trip-ready fast.

    Arrival: Set Up, Then Enjoy

When setup is easy, the weekend starts sooner. S&H Campground offers pull-through sites, 30/50-amp service, and full hookups—so once you’re parked, it’s level first, hook up power and water, and finish with a quick leak check. Then it’s time to make memories: the pool, fishing lake, camp store, treats from our cafe and concessions, and the Family Fun Park with inflatables and mini golf are ready when you are.

    Reserve Your Weekend

Whether you’re planning a spring opener, a family reunion, or a quick getaway near Indianapolis, S&H Campground makes it easy. Contact our team at (317) 326-3208 to request a reservation and ask about upcoming events and specials.
